The new spring catalog is here and it is oh, so wonderful! There are so many fabulous new products to get your creative juices flowing.
I am typing this as I am flying out to Orlando for our Leadership convention. I apologize for any misspellings right now, as we are hitting quite a bit of turbulence. Holy schmoley it’s bumpy! Probably not a good idea to get a drink, I would probably be wearing most of it as it sloshes out of the glass.
Anywho, back to the new mini. Here is a card I put together for a card swap. I showed a sneak peek last week.

And here is the full card.

I broke out the River Rock card stock. I haven’t used that color in a while and thought it would go well with the Rose Red. I inked up the wood grain embossing folder (#127821 $7.95) with the River Rock ink on a braver. You could also use a sponge or rub the ink pad directly in the folder for a different look. I then ran a piece of Whisper White cardstock in the embossing folder through the Big Shot, and voila! Two-toned wood grain! Fabulous if I do say so.
I then layered the textured piece to the River Rock back. When adhering textured cardstock that you have created using the Big Shot and embossing folders, it’s best to stick them down with either glue dots, sticky strip or dimensionals to ensure they stay stuck down.
I cut a strip 1.5 inches wide and 5 inches long, then slit up the center, the cut from the corner to the top of the slit to create the ribbon banner effect. Then I stamped the flower image from the new set Secret Garden (#129144 – clear) in Versamark randomly creating a pattern.
I stamped the large flower outline and the small flower solid in Versamark on Baja Breeze and embossed them with clear powder. Then I crinkled them up to give them more dimension. I put a dimensional between each flower. Add a big ole rhinestone in the middle (gotta have some bling) and tada -instant spring!

I stamped the greeting on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut it using the ribbon/banner technique above. I glued this piece to the back of the Rose Red ribbon around the bottom 1/3 of it.
I took the new doily and cut it in half, crinkled it up and adhered it to the back of the Rose Red ribbon, the added the flower with a dimensional on the front. Then I stuck this to the card with dimensionals.
I sprayed it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and 70% rubbing alcohol (about 4-5 drops of shimmer paint and the rest alcohol) in our spritzers. I just love those things! Shake well to combine, and spritz. It leaves you with a fabulous sparkle and shine that is not too over the top.
Then all you have to do is address it and send it to someone you think is wonderful.
There are so many wonderful goodies in this mini! What are your faves? Need a catalog? Contact me and I would be happy to get one to you.
